Tunisia's Interior Minister Lofti Ben Jeddou has said opposition figure Mohamed Brahmi's assassination was carried out by a member of the Salafist movement, AFP has reported.

"The first elements of the investigation show the implication of Boubaker Hakim, a Salafist extremist", Mr Ben Jeddou told a press conference.
