The Girard-Perregaux Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufacture inaugurated recently its flagship boutique in New York, at number 701, Madison Avenue. This event was attended by a host of celebrities.
The President of the La Chaux-de-Fonds brand Luigi Macaluso hosted the opening ceremony in presence of François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PPR and his wife Salma Hayek. Among the guests, Dayle Haddon, Tina Brown and Michelle Bernhardt attended the event.
Located in an exceptional avenue, this boutique employs a sophisticated architectural concept to showcase its enthralling universe and unique savoir-faire. In this distinguished setting, Girard-Perregaux has created a backdrop for its collections in complete alignment with its philosophy. The design was based on that of the first boutique opened by the brand in 2004 in Gstaad (Switzerland), and adapted to suit the New York milieu. The sophistication of the design can be seen in each element, for example the subtle use of Italian designers' lamps and furniture dating from the 1950s to the 1970s.
At the occasion of the opening ceremony, Luigi Macaluso said: 'We are thrilled to be opening “Girard-Perregaux on Madison”. This genuine Embassy of the Brand in the United States brings our spirit and philosophy to life. New York is a city I know well and that I consider “my home away from home”. This opening is both a tribute to this city and an event I appreciate personally and emotionally'.
