Egyptian mega-star Samira Ahmad had denied rumors that blamed great actress Faten Hamama for the postponement of her latest series Hayati Bukra (My Life Tomorrow).
Tabloids have recently alleged that Hamama was trying to monopolize the screen for the upcoming Ramadan lineup.
According to ‘Al Raya’ newspaper, Ahmad said “everything that is being said is a vile rumor, with no basis or any truth. It is ridiculous to actually believe that Faten Hamama would stand in the way of a series, be it starring Samira Ahmad or any other actress?!”
“Faten Hamama is a great actress, who knows her worth and how much she is respected by her peers. This cannot be and is not the way she is, and I would like to say something to those who are spreading this rumor: You are forgiven, because you were never witnesses to the Golden Age of Art in Egypt,” she said.
Furthermore, Ahmad described that ‘Golden Age’ as a time when “actors and actresses were close and loving, whereby the success of one would be a success for all.”
She then added that the reasons behind postponing the series were that “the great writer Ousamma Anwar Akasha had not finished writing the episodes, and I had to travel to Turkey and Carthage, where I bought the accessories for the series. That’s it.
The result of such a move is that the series will not air in Ramadan when it would have a massive loyal audience. To be honest, I am still hoping that the show would air during Ramadan,” she said – Albawaba.com.
