Sarasin-Alpen partners with the Indian Consulate – Oman to host the 8th Session of the Indo Oman Business Forum

Sarasin-Alpen Co LLC, Muscat, a subsidiary of the Swiss private bank, Bank Sarasin-Alpen (ME) Ltd , Dubai joint hands with the Indian Consulate in Oman to sponsor the 8th session of the Indo Oman Business Forum on Tuesday, 2 February, 2010.

H.E Sheikh Dr. Salim Saeed Hamed Al Fannah Al Araimi, Chairman of Bank Sohar and Galfar was the Guest of Honour. Speaking at the event, he praised the Indian consulate’s efforts in bringing together the business communities of India and Oman and hoped that this would go a long way in increasing cooperation and bilateral engagement in the fields of investment and trade.

The speakers at the event included Mr. Sanjay Vig, Managing Director – Alpen Capital (ME) Ltd who provided an Outlook on India for 2010 and Mr. Paul Cooper, Managing Director – Sarasin-Alpen & Partners Ltd, Dubai who talked to the audiences on GCC Markets – Opportunities and Shortcomings. The event was a huge success and attended by the business community in Oman.

It provides a complete range of private banking advisory services and is the first Swiss origin private banking advisory presence and activity in Oman. The Indo-Oman Business Forum is an initiative taken by the Indian Consulate along with OCCI to increase cooperation between the business communities of India and Oman. The Forum was launched in October 2007, and has held seven meetings since then, which have all been heavily attended by Indian and Omani businessmen. Entry to the event is by invitation only.
