Saraya Jordan, the leading real estate developer in Jordan, is sponsoring the second Jordan Economic Forum (JEF), held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and to take place on November 27 – 28, 2005 at Le Royal Hotel – Amman. The Forum, organized by the Jordanian government and Al Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group, will bring together entrepreneurs, chief economists, and key policy-makers to discuss matters relevant to the country’s economy with respect to its regional and global prospects.
The Diamond Sponsorship of JEF comes in line with Saraya's overall objective of supporting the economic prosperity of Jordan and investing in its abundant resources. The Forum will highlight issues and challenges facing the Jordanian economy as well as identify investment prospects and opportunities. This directly falls with Saraya’s aim to work closely with local authorities and investors in identifying and assessing unique undiscovered sites in order to develop them into prospering “cities within cities.” As one of the integral philosophies of Saraya, all projects under its umbrella will be developed in an environmentally-friendly and culturally-conscious manner and aim to stimulate the economies of these yet-to-be discovered spots and benefit the development of the communities they are a part of.
The diamond sponsorship is the highest sponsorship opportunity extended by the organizers of the Jordan Economic Forum, and will grant Saraya the opportunity to showcase two of its local projects. The first, and flagship project, is the Saraya Aqaba; a beachfront city built around a man-made lagoon in the heart of Aqaba; project set for opening in January 2009. The Saraya Aqaba project model will be displayed during the JEF and participants will have the opportunity to better understand the investment and residential real estate opportunities it has to offer; in addition to an opportunity to book a residence from the few remaining in the project. Saraya will also utilize the gathering of the JEF to launch its second Jordanian project. A press conference unveiling this new and unique project is set for November 27, 2005.
"The world is realizing the importance of Jordan in the region as an economic hub and the abundant investment opportunities it holds within, especially after it joined the WTO and the free trade agreements that ensued. Which is why, we at Saraya, believe that the forum is an ideal vehicle that effectively works on highlighting the efforts made in the past years by the government to create a friendly investment environment, and the accomplishments achieved since then," said Ali Kolaghassi, Vice Chairman, Saraya Holdings.
The security and political stability prevailing in Jordan, in addition to the economic reform and respective legislative facilitations, among other factors, are all contributing to transforming Jordan into a prime investment choice in the region. Entrepreneurs, especially those with a keen interest in the advancement and the betterment of the region, are becoming increasingly interested in Jordan as a gateway to neighboring economies and a pivotal player in many sectors, not least of all, the real estate sector.
