Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on Tuesday sent two more planeloads of humanitarian aid to Algeria, where killer storms followed by devastating floods left 733 people dead, official news agencies reported, cited by AFP.

Riyadh dispatched two planeloads of dates and other food items, tents, rugs and medicines under the instructions of King Fahd following the disaster. The last plane carried 50 tons, while a first planeload of 60 tons of aid was dispatched on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

In addition, 13 tons of food, tents, children's milk, medicines and first aid materials arrived in Algiers from Kuwait heading for northern areas, according to the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).

A first planeload of Kuwaiti aid was sent to Algeria last Friday.

Kuwait's Relief Authority said more aid would soon follow on the orders of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

The UAE had also sent 40 tons of relief aid to the Arab African country, which last had such large scale catastrophe in 1981, when it was rocked by a major earthquake.

Another 170 people are missing in the storms which hit the North African state on Nov. 9 and 1O – Albawaba.com
