A court in Saudi Arabia has sent eight Saudi nations to prison over convictions that they plotted for Al Qaeda, state news agency SPA reported.
The men have been sentenced to jail terms between 10 and 25 years, AFP reported.
SPA reported that the eight men are convicted of “forming a group to eliminate police officers, among them Colnel Mubarak Al Sawat”. Al Sawat was killed in 2005.
Evidence was found proving that they “aided Al Qaeda” by searching for addresses of Saudi Arabian officers and officials, and sending threatening messages to them. They are also convicted of plotting to kidnap and kill security officials according to AFP.
