This sum of money constitutes the fifth donation from the Popular Committees to the PLO during the current Islamic year. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the Director General of the Office of the Popular Committees for Assisting the Palestinian Mujahidin, Abdulrahim Mahmoud Jamoos, expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's continuous moral and material support of the Palestinian people.

The donation to the PLO was transferred under the instructions of Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of the Riyadh region, who is the chairman of the Popular Committee.
