Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the British Council, the Jeddah Hilton is proud to host the “As We See It” photo exhibition, between 25th of April and 3rd of May, on display daily at the Lower Lobby level of Jeddah Hilton. The exhibit represents the work of young photographers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom who had the opportunity to visit each other’s countries and were able to exchange experiences, ideas, and views

The exhibition contains over 60 works of 13 photographers from Saudi Arabia and the UK brought together over the past three years. The initiative to explore young people’s cultural and national identity through photography, aims to establish lasting relationships based on mutual affinity, interests and respect in place of ignorance and complacency.

“This exhibition represents an excellent example of how young people working together from our two countries can help to build deeper understanding and create lasting positive relationships between the two Kingdoms, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” said H.E. William Patey CMG, the newly arrived British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition is a product of a British Council project initiated in 2003. The broader aims of the project are to build mutual understanding, learning and respect between young people with different cultural backgrounds, in this case using photography as a common medium and interest

“ We are pleased to host this Exhibition on the premises of the Jeddah Hilton for the enjoyment by both the local residents of Jeddah and the many visitors staying at the hotel” said Wolfgang Maier, General Manager of Jeddah Hilton and Qasr Al Sharq.
