Two persons including a policeman, were killed in an attack against a police patrol late Friday night in eastern Saudi Arabia, reported on Saturday the official SPA news agency. The region is the home of some 2 million Saudi Shiites.
"Late Friday, a security patrol came under heavy fire from four gunmen on motorcycles," said SPA, confirming that one policeman died and another wounded. During exchanges of fire that followed the attack, one assailant was killed, the agency said quoting the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Mansour al-Turki.
