Saudi interior minister, Prince Nayef bin Abdelaziz, denied on Sunday any arrangements for a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart during the meetings of the 18th session of the Arab interior ministers in Tunisia due to take place on Monday, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Press reports said this week that the two ministers would meet in Tunisia to discuss the extradition of two Saudi nationals who hijacked a Saudi plane in November, and were later given asylum by the Iraqi authorities.
The minister, in a statement carried by the agency, "strongly denied such press reports."
Meanwhile, Kuwait's News Agency quoted the minister as denying Saturday that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Saudi Arabia was aimed at mediating between Iraq and Saudi Arabia who cut their relations following Iraq's invasion to Kuwait in 1990.
He stressed, said KUNA, that talks between King Fahd and Mubarak only focused on enhancing bilateral ties and Middle East peace process -- Albawaba.com
