The 9th session of the Saudi-Italian joint committee for economic and industrial cooperation is expected to kick off on Wednesday in the capital city of Rome.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Saudi Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Italian Prime Minister and Acting Foreign Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
In a statement, Dr. Al-Assaf said the meeting is an important step toward strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the economic, trade, investment and technical fields as well as promoting cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and European Union, Arab News reported.
The discussions are to focus on bilateral cooperation agreements, notably an accord on avoidance of double taxation. (Albawaba.com)
