The Saudi-led coalition against the Houthi movement in Yemen resumed airstrikes Monday night, reports Reuters.

Houthi militias in Saadaeh, Sanaa, and Yarim were targeted, according residents and media. Saadeh serves as the group's stronghold in the north.

"There were huge blazes in the mountains outside Sanaa. It looks like they hit a missile depot and it was on fire for half an hour or so. Then there was anti-aircraft fire until dawn," said one Sanaa resident.

Airstrikes against the Houthis began on Thursday, in an attempt to prevent the Shiite rebels from gaining more territory and to encourage negations between the Houthi-backed former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the country's current interim President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi. Hadi had resigned from his post when the Houthi's took Sanaa only to redeclare his authority upon moving to the southern city of Aden.
