ALBAWABA - The Saudi-led coalition has carried out airstrikes in Yemen, leaving four civilians killed and six others wounded, AFP reported, citing two hospital sources.
AFP mentioned that the coalition targeted al-Dhale Governorate in Yemen, which is the home province of a separatist leader.
A statement was released by Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman for the coalition forces, that the coalition forces, in coordination with the legitimate government forces and the Homeland Shield, carried out limited preemptive strikes at (04:00) in the morning to disrupt those forces that came out of the camps and to thwart what Al-Zubaidi aimed for in terms of escalating the conflict and extending it to Al-Dhali' Governorate.
"The initial toll from the strikes on the province of al-Dhale is four civilian deaths and six wounded," medical sources at the Al-Nasr and Al-Tadamon hospitals in al-Dhale told AFP.
On the other hand, Yemen's Southern Transitional Council (STC) spokesman, Anwar Al-Tamimi, announced on Wednesday that they had lost contact with a delegation which left Yemen for Riyadh to hold discussions.
Yemeni separatists called on Saudi Arabia to guarantee their safety and urged the GCC country to halt strikes, stressing that the group's leader, Aidaros Alzubidi, is still in Aden, despite Saudi-led coalition accusations that he left for an unknown location.
The group said in a statement, "While the Southern Transitional Council condemns these unjustified air strikes, it demands that the Saudi authorities immediately cease the aerial bombardment."
