At least six people were arrested in the Saudi city of Jeddah as they tried to hold an anti-regime protest called for by an exiled opposition group, witnesses told AFP.
The witnesses said Thursday that they had heard shooting near a cemetery in and seen at least six people being detained by police.
Interior ministry spokesman Mansur al-Turki had earlier told AFP that "two people were arrested after they fired in the air from their car and are being questioned."
The London-based Movement for Islamic Reform (MIRA) group had also called for demonstrations in Riyadh to support its call for a regime-change. The groups says wants to replace the monarchy with a liberal, democratic government.
