Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met with Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation of Saudi Arabia. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defense Minister attended the meeting as well, which took place this week in Abu Dhabi.
Khaleej Times reported that Shaikh Khalifa welcomed Prince Sultan and his delegation and hailed friendly relations between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. They discussed ways of enhancing the good relations between the two countries in various fields, various Arab and international affairs and matters concerning common interests.
In reply, Prince Sultan thanked President Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Shaikh Khalifa for the warm hospitality extended to him during his visit to the UAE. He also praised Shaikh Zayed’s sincere efforts for Arab and Islamic causes and the UAE’s role in enriching joint Arab action. Prince Sultan wished the government and the people of the UAE further future progress and prosperity.
Later on, Shaikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon in honor of Prince Sultan. Amongst those attending the fancy event were Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt-Gen. Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Ministry Under-Secretary Major-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Director-General of the President's Office Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
