A Saudi oil worker has died in hospital as a result of second-degree burns he received during a fire at the Ras Tannurah refinery, a newspaper reported Thursday.
Jayez al-Hajeri, 24, suffered second and third-degree burns during the July 17th fire caused by a gas leak at the Ras Tannurah refinery on the kingdom's east coast, Okaz said.
Another Saudi employee who suffered smoke inhalation was discharged from hospital, the paper added.
The state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco stressed Monday that the refinery's installations were "unaffected by the fire and continued to function normally."
