Another meeting of the joint Israeli-Palestinian-American security committee will take place Friday afternoon, reported Haaretz.
According to the paper, the goal of the meeting is to set work procedures for implementing the cease-fire over the next few days and weeks. The United States will be represented by CIA officials, and Shin Bet chief Avi Dichter will also attend the meeting.
The paper said Israel is to continue to ease its closure on the Occupied Territories in accordance with the cease-fire agreement brokered by CIA director George Tenet. Additional roads will be opened to Palestinian traffic and the encirclements around some town will be removed.
Palestinians were not satisfied Thursday.
"Instead of beginning to lift the siege and closures of Palestinian cities and towns and implement other measures required by the work plan, Israel has taken a number of actions to further the suffering of the Palestinian people," a Palestinian Authority statement said, quoted by AFP.
Palestinians reported some lifting of the closure in the Gaza Strip, including the opening of the border with Egypt, but in the West Bank they reported little change.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ordered the army to avoid firing tank shells, Israel Radio reported Friday.
Sharon said Thursday that the closure would not be lifted in areas in which the cease-fire was being violated such as Ramallah and Rafah. He also said that the count-down of the cooling-off period preceding the confidence building measures would begin only when the violence in the territories had stopped completely.
A shooting attack took place late Thursday night near the West Bank settlement of Neve Tsuf, close to Ramallah. Three Israelis were injured. Two are in moderate to serious condition and one person sustained light to moderate injuries, said the paper.
After the shooting attack settlers threw stones at Palestinians near Ramallah and according to several reports they set fire to fields in the area, it said.
