Business leaders, technologists, and security experts explored the dynamics of business and information security during these challenging economic times at Security Strategist 2010, a business security conference that took place last April 21, 2010 at the Murjaan Ballroom in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.

The conference was the first-ever security strategy –focused event organized by Corporate Publishing International, the regional partner of IDG, the world’s largest information and communications technology publishing house. It featured keynote speeches on managed security services; application security, Governance, Risk and Compliance; penetration testing; and business continuity planning. The event also included panel sessions on people, information, and risk management; regional security collaboration; and the security dimensions of new technologies.

Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the region, sent over two of its top specialists to discuss key security strategies. Injazat also received the inaugural Security Strategist 2010 Award for Security Strategy in recognition of its adoption of emerging models to ensure security. Two of its clients, the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and the Federal Authority of Nuclear Regulation, were also given the award. Injazat has developed managed security services for both institutions.

Speaking of their participation in the conference, Ali AL Neaimi, Executive Director - Client Care, Injazat Data Systems, said: “The economic crisis is still here, so businesses must sustain and even enhance their security policies especially in the critical domain of technology and more so if some components are outsourced.  Security Strategist 2010 will enable business and technology leaders and security professionals to remind the corporate community that they need to achieve a certain level of equilibrium between their core and security activities if they want to remain viable and competitive in today’s rapidly evolving business environments.”

Injazat experts delivered a workshop on Business Continuity Planning and discussed the holistic approach to Managed Security Services during the conference.
