A family from the northern Gaza Strip settlement of "Nissanit" received keys Sunday to temporary housing in the southern Israeli village of "Nitzanim." The family joined two evacuated families who received keys last Thursday to permanent housing in another village.

Some 130 additional evacuated settler families are expected to arrive in "Nitzanim" this week, Reuters reported. Of the 250 families who signed up to live at the site, some 80 have already obtained the needed documents.

Meanwhile, the Israeli deputy defense minister said Sunday his country would launch a massive ground operation if Palestinians fire on Israeli soldiers and settlers during next month's Gaza Strip pullout.

In such a scenario, the evacuation of settlers would be stopped for 10 days to two weeks, while Israeli forces occupy Palestinian towns near the Jewish settlements, said Deputy Defense Minister Zeev Boim, according to The AP.
