At least seven people were killed and more than 100 others injured during a gun battle between rival groups at Munshiganj, 30 km (18 miles) south of the capital Dhaka, Bangladesh police said on Sunday, cited by the official Saudi News Agency (SPA).
Police said supporters of two local council leaders had clashed on Saturday.
Five people were killed on the spot and two seriously injured later died at a hospital. At least 15 of the wounded were policemen, the police said.
They said the situation was brought under control late on Saturday -- Albawaba.com
