For the truly decadent, book “Ladies Night” at the Atlantis Spa on 21 March 2010. From 7pm-11pm, The Atlantis Spa will be completely devoted to indulging Mothers and their daughters. This ultra-luxurious experience begins with light spa refreshments and chocolate covered strawberries to welcome ladies into the relaxing environment. For natural purification through a relaxing experience by which the body is slowly warmed to stimulate circulation and accelerate the body’s defense system, the ladies will first relax on the Laconium thrones. A total experience of 15-20 minutes is recommended for resulting freshness and deeper mental and physical relaxation. Once relaxed, a massage of the head, neck and shoulders follows to ease tension and restore a feeling of relaxed wellness. A foot massage is performed on the soles of the feet, not only offers a sublimely relaxing experience, but also providing benefits to the whole body. The therapy focuses on points of the soles corresponding to specific areas of the body; when stimulated, these points can rectify imbalances so as to help the body to repair itself. Atlantis, The Palm, has turned into the culinary destination of Dubai since opening in September and is the perfect place to let Mom enjoy a special gourmet feast, without being the one to prepare it. A number of the specialty restaurants will be offering special Mother’s Day lunch and dinner on 21 March 2010.
To begin Mother’s Day weekend, Giorgio Locatelli will be offering “My Mother’s Recipes” on 18 March 2010 at Ronda Locatelli. Paying homage to his Mother, guests will be introduced to the flavours and ingredients that have influenced Giorgio from a young age. The meal will begin with a Broad bean salad with pecorino and rocket, highlighting the fresh spring ingredients. The salad will be followed by Herb Ravioli with walnut sauce. The fresh packets are filled with Swiss chard leaves, parsley, basil, rosemary and sage, producing a beautiful green bouquet. Continuing the focus on fresh ingredients for spring, a fillet of sea bass is served in a tomato crust with artichoke puree, olives and tomato sauce. This is a very simple recipe which relies on perfect fish with crispy skin and flesh that is cooked through. The ode to Giorgio’s Mother concludes with a strawberry and rhubarb compote with passion fruit jelly and milk ice cream. This dinner can be enjoyed for AED320 per person excluding selected beverages or AED495 with selected beverages expertly chosen to complement the dishes.
Rostang-The French Brasserie by 2 Michelin starred chef Michel Rostang will be offering a 4-course lunch or dinner on 21 March for 280AED per person or AED375 per person, including a bottle of selected wine per couple and Mothers dine complimentary. The special menu begins with Pan-seared foie gras, roasted mango and port wine foam and is followed by caramelised scallops with morel veloute. Guests then have a choice of Herb crusted lamb loin, spring baby vegetables and thyme jus or grilled sea bass with sorrel sauce, sautéed white asparagus, fava beans and fresh tomatoes. Finally, the meal comes to an end with the perfect dish to share, Sachet biscuit with Marquise cream and apricot centre.
For Mother’s who enjoy dining near the tranquil waters of the Arabian Gulf, Nasimi Beach is the perfect choice. A barbeque can be enjoyed throughout the day featuring a wide selection of tantalizing cuisines including succulent steaks and marinated lamb chops and for those who prefer a lighter option - grilled vegetable skewers and fresh salads. Nasimi Beach can be enjoyed for AED220 per person, excluding beverages or AED395 per person with selected beverages.
Levantine offers a true taste of Arabia featuring the cuisines of the region, in a two-storey space full of intrigue and discovery. Encouraging a festive atmosphere with live music and dancing, dishes from cold to hot mezzes, traditional raw dishes like Kebbeh Nayeh and shared meats off the grill, panoramic show kitchens add to the buzz of the Middle Eastern-designed space. The more casual Levantine Lounge serves hot and cold mezze, and Arabic and Turkish coffees are accompanied by traditional Arabic sweets. The restaurant offers 20 theatrical live cooking stations with a variety of international cuisines focusing on the freshest ingredients, with an accent on Asian specialities. This includes wok prepared favourites and noodles, sushi and sashimi, steamed and poached dishes reminiscent of the street vendors in Singapore, fresh baked breads from around the world, as well as tempting desserts. Breakfast offers a full choice of specialties including typical European, Arabic and American and tempting dessert selections, complemented by fresh juices, cheese and cereals. Saffron serves breakfast and dinner Monday through Sunday and a special brunch every Friday that presents the freshest, most innovative Asian-inspired cuisine prepared by over 90 chefs from Singapore, China, India and Malaysia.
