Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University's Board of Trustees, will attend Abu Dhabi University's (ADU) fourth graduation ceremony for both undergraduate and postgraduate students today. The ceremony will take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC). This fourth cohort of ADU graduates includes 358 students, amongst which 161 male students, 57 from them undergraduate students and 104 of them postgraduate students, and 197 female students among them 104 undergraduate students and 93 postgraduate students. The graduates include 205 national students which equal to 57% from the total percentage of the graduates. The total number of Abu Dhabi Campus graduates is 266 students, and the total number of Al Ain Campus graduates is 92 students. A number of sheikhs, officials, ministers, high profile people in the country and parents of graduates will attend the graduation ceremony.
Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, the ADU Chairman of the Executive Board, stressed on the importance of this event in which the University celebrates the fourth batch of graduates who just completed all the requirements of their majors to earn their bachelor or master degrees. The graduates divided on 21 scientific majors which cover the Engineering, business, technology and humanitarian fields.
Bin Harmal assured that the sponsorship and the support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan – President of UAE for education led the field to be the base of the country development. Bin Harmal also expressed his appreciation for the support of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, unlimited support and untiring efforts which led Abu Dhabi to be a unique role model in education regionally and internationally as a result Abu Dhabi University and other educational and academic institutions was qualified to be one of the best international institutions with their plans, curriculum and projects which serve different fields in addition to specify their requirements and solve the issues in innovative scientific methods.
Bin Harmal stressed that the support and the sponsorship of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University's Board of Trustees has made the University one of the leading institutions in the country and in the region. His Highness has defined the vision of the University to be a source of sciences, innovation and civilization and its main strategy should be developed according to the public policy of the Government of Abu Dhabi economic vision for 2030, based on the same and the requirements, the University launches its programs, scientific and applied initiatives according to the highest international standards in training, scientific research and community service.
Bin Harmal praised His Highness direction of Abu Dhabi University strategy should start where others has finished, excel in its programs, research projects and study the need and requirements of the national development in Abu Dhabi, the country and the region. The University is proud and honored with the large number of graduates which provided for various institutions and the market.
Bin Harmal stated that the forth batch of graduates includes students from 45 different Arabic and foreign nationalities which means that they are all in a cultural diverse environment of different traditions and values which mixed and united in one location ( Abu Dhabi University).
Dr.Nabil Ibrahim, the ADU Chancellor, noted that ADU fosters an experiential learning environment where students learn by doing and by reflecting on the experience. The university also attracts highly qualified professors from the world's most prestigious universities and academic institutes, as well as partnering with these universities to offer unique academic programs that benefit students, in addition to launch new programs such as Bachelor degree of Environmental Sciences of the Arts & Science college, Bachelor of Architecture of the Engineering & Computer Science college in addition of few new programs the University plans to launch after having the accreditation of each program from the Accreditation Committee in the Higher Education & Scientific Research Ministry.
He added that ADU's fourth graduate class includes 161 undergraduate students, of which 24 from the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, 114 graduated from the College of Business Administration, 23 graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences, The postgraduate total graduates are 197 students; 8 from the College of Arts and Science and 188 from the College of Business Administration, Graduate from the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
