ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, will hold its 2nd Commencement Exercises today (Wednesday, November 18, 2009) at Emirates Palace Auditorium.
Organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the ceremony will confer degrees on a total of 166 students. The graduates comprise 93 males, 25 of whom will receive Masters Degrees, and 73 females, 12 of whom will be given Masters Degrees. Prominent figures are expected to attend the event as well.
“It is always inspiring to see our youth blossom into learned men and women who are eager to contribute to the development of society. The world is currently facing several challenges which require the vision and energy of the younger generation to resolve. Today we wish our graduates well as they assume greater responsibilities in their respective communities,” said Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor, ALHOSN University.
Commenting on the event, Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, ALHOSN University Vice Chancellor and CEO, noted the institution’s key achievements in the social, environmental, technological and educational fields in 2009. The institution was able to enhance its online student services, expand its academic programs and personnel, hold the first university-led conference for women engineers and construct an additional building within the year. The newly-formed ALHOSN University Alumni Association will also be formally introduced to the audience during the ceremony.
ALHOSN University started operations in 2005, accepting students of all nationalities to its mostly technical academic programs. It currently offers 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs in three faculties, accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Its City Campus includes the Men’s Campus, the Women’s Campus, Library Building, Lectures Building, the Engineering Labs Building, and a newly-built Studio Building.
