Ras Al Khaimah, Aug 15: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, opened RAK Dream Tours, a new tourism project on the Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah, at a function held here Friday night.
The new project, spread over an area of 41,000 square feet, has two restaurants housed in historic fort tower- like buildings, set amidst meandering walkways and landscaped gardens complete with water fountains and running streams.
It offers spectacular views of the RAK Creek, the mangroves and the mountains beyond and provides an array of leisure and unwinding options for tourists and families. The facilities offered include outdoor dining, yacht trips through the creek, water sports, rides on horse- drawn carriages and sight seeing tours onboard double- decker buses.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Sheikh Saud toured the project premises and was briefed about the facilities offered at the site by Mohammed Yousuf Al Aziz, an Emirati entrepreneur and Executive Chairman of RAK Dream Tours.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Sheikh Saud said that the project is expected to enhance the tourism offerings of the emirate by providing tourists an option to enjoy the scenic beauty of RAK. Sheikh Saud lauded the initiative and said that the government is committed towards helping Emirati entrepreneurs to set up new projects and business ventures, particularly in the tourism sector.
“RAK Government has identified tourism and infrastructure development as key elements in its development strategy. The emirate is endowed with unique and diverse geographical features and has all that is needed to become a major tourism destination in the region in the near future,” Sheikh Saud said.
Replying to a question, Sheikh Saud said that UAE will be among the first countries to emerge out of the global financial crisis due to the sound fiscal policies implemented by the country.
Mohammed Yousuf said that RAK Dream Tours intends to provide a complete range of options for visitors to enjoy the scenery and explore Ras Al Khaimah. “We have tried to create a perfect ambience for guests to relax and unwind. The unique location of the project on the Al Qawasim Corniche offers splendid views of the Nakheel city on the other side,” he added.
