Shellys Ladies Collection Autumn/Winter 2007

This Autumn/Winter sees a season of strong contrasts, urban looks mix with retro feminine styling, which in turn take strong influences from the seventies and eighties.

However, it is the use of contrast textures and materials and the modern use of metal trims and buckles that set the scene for a fascinating season. The short bootee and shoe boot are key and these contrast with the strong man tailored and biker influences.

The court shoe has become a vital part of the wardrobe, whether this is the covered platform, conical and banana heels or the use of distinct metal hardware. Black, midnight blue and touches of grey and taupe act as a foil for the addition of brights - purple, red, green and all things metallic.

There is a toe shape for everyone, but the new egg shaped toe, the short point and the square are swiftly becoming the directional looks of this Autumn/Winter. Overall shoes reflect the catwalk trends and have more volume this season and this lends itself to more sculptural details on the toes, heels and general lines of the product.

For those glam nights, the metallic becomes mirrored or distressed, jewelling is vital and suede / satin / velvet and patent give a richness and opulence. Nothing casual in this category! This is the most interesting and eclectic season that we have had for years and definitely one for those keen to experiment - not for the faint hearted!!! But perfect for the Shellys customer!
