Yemeni Shi'ite rebels have handed over one missing Saudi soldier to a ceasefire committee, Al Jazeera television reported on Monday. Saudi Arabia on Saturday gave the rebels 48 hours to hand over five missing troops.
Riyadh has said handing over the soldiers would help prove the the rebels are serious about ending the fight with Saudi Arabia.
Saudi-owned newspaper Asharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted an unidentified Yemeni security official on Sunday as saying the handover of the troops was expected to be completed in less than a week.
