Dubai Festival City’s (DFC) participation in the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival is earning positive feedback from its shoppers.

Ali Reza, who is already a frequent visitor to the mall, has admitted coming to the shopping centre even more often during the Dubai Shopping Festival period. “I have been here for six years, and every year I make it a point to go out and enjoy the many activities offered during DSF. Since Dubai Festival City opened, I’ve come here often especially now because of DSF. I enjoy the fringe festival performers, mostly and other entertainment activities they have throughout the mall.”

Ali, who hails from Iran, admits he likes shopping for clothes and shoes in DFC. “There’s a great variety here, and the prices now are very low, even for the usually expensive brands, so it’s good.” When not shopping, Ali likes to walk by the creek side and enjoy the fantastic views.

When his cousin Amir Nayeri came over for a vacation, he took him along and showed him his favourite hangout in the mall. “Ali has taken me to other shopping centres in the city, but this is where I like to just hang out with him, grab something to eat, have some fun. It’s very relaxing,” said Amir.

One of the more popular shopping venues in DFC is the Ikea flagship store. For Yalda and her family who are here on vacation, “Ikea was one of the first things on our shopping itinerary. We’re buying stuff for our house back home, and this is the best place where you can get some really nice and fancy furniture.”

DFC’s other anchor retail shops include Toys "R" Us, Marks & Spencer, ACE, Plug Ins, and Intersport which along with other outlets have all joined hands in offering innovative discounts, prizes, bargains and special offers during the month-long festivities.
Adnan Behya was checking out the latest Ferrari vehicle on display at the car manufacturer’s concept store in DFC. “It’s an amazing toy,” he quipped. “When I come here, I make sure I visit this store to check out the latest merchandise. Then I go explore other shops. It’s very organized here so it’s easy to go around, and I like that there’s so much variety from the stores to the cafes,” he added.

The Iraqi national also admitted having his eye on one of the Dodge cars up for grabs in the mall’s Spend and Win promotion. Shoppers spending AED300 at any outlet in DFC gets a chance to win the vehicle. “Hopefully, I get lucky. Every year it is my dream. Hopefully, this year it’s my turn,” he added.

Dubai Festival City is also hosting the Monster Truck Dubai event and the unique and intriguing Signspotting project until 28th February.
