By tradition, every member of the National Hockey League’s Championship team is allowed to spend one day with the cherished Stanley Cup. In the past, players have used the Cup to baptize their children, or go swimming with the statue.
Recently, Sidney Crosby, the captain of this year’s championship team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, was photographed sleeping with the trophy in his bed. Crosby, the youngest player ever to win the Stanley Cup, snuggled with his first ever trophy as teammates got a glance and took photos of their captain.
