"Women have finally realized it's not a crime to grow older", says Alien woman and six-footer Sigourney Weaver. "Older women are no longer over the hill at 50,” reported Hollywood Gossip online.
How does Sigourney stay so incredibly cool, elegant, vital, fresh and sexy?
She's a workout fanatic who used to stay in shape by belly dancing. Now she's become an advanced student of karate, she's a great swimmer and she hikes for miles.
She combines simplicity with sophistication, but this wasn't always the case.
"I used to scare almost every guy away because I was too much for them to deal with,” she says.
"I was a good student and I wasn't naive about guys and sex. So it took me a while before I met a man who could handle my size and my so-called feminist attitude way back in the 70's.”
Sigourney, married since 1984 to theater director Jim Simpson, is very aware that her height can be intimidating to other men.
"I don't wear high heels too often,” she says. "Producers tend to be short. I'm not the average producer's sexual fantasy because what they are looking for is a petite blonde who looks up to them.”
Outside of her movies Sigourney is happiest at home in upstate New York where she is a school "mum" to her ten-year-old daughter Charlotte.
"I go along on school field trips as a chaperone,” she said. "That's the heart of my life. I'm never this movie star, except on junkets or at the Oscars, then that's my job.”
