ALBAWABA - The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced that sires went off across Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, as a barrage of rockets were launched from Gaza towards the city for the first time in months.
Eight rockets were fired into Israel from the southern Gazan city of Rafah, according to the IOF. "A number of projectiles" have been intercepted, according to the army.
Hamas has released a statement claiming responsibility for the rocket barrage, saying that this comes as a retaliation for the people of Gaza.
Prior to this, Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Saturday afternoon that after a difficult operation, their fighters had captured, killed, and wounded numerous Israeli troops. An Israeli army was fooled into entering a tunnel in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
According to Abu Ubaida, Al-Qassam used a highly skillful tactic to draw Israeli forces into an underground ambush. They fought in close quarters, entangling the troops at both the tunnel's entrance and interior.
Explosive devices awaited the reinforcement soldiers that ran to the scene, resulting in direct hits. The fighters retreated following the strike, destroying the operation's tunnel.
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 35,857+ people, with more than 80,293+ injuries.
Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
