Six Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli troops in and around Hebron on Monday, witnesses said.
Two people were injured in Hebron near the line between the Palestinian and Israeli controlled sectors of the city, where Israeli soldiers were firing rubber bullets on stone-throwing demonstrators.
Another four were wounded in clashes in Bani-Naim to the southeast, witnesses said. Further details were not immediately available.
It was the fifth day of Israeli-Palestinian violence that has swept the region, claiming the lives of 37 people, mainly Palestinians.
Hebron is often a flashpoint for violent confrontation between the some 400 extremist Jewish settlers who live among the city's 120,000 Arab inhabitants.
Under a US-brokered January 1997 agreement, Israel withdrew its troops from four-fifths of Hebron, retaining control of 20 percent of the city where the settlers and around 15,000 Palestinians live.
Earlier, the Israeli police said a man was killed near a Palestinian village in the West Bank, bringing to 37 the number of dead in the violence sparked by a controversial visit to a disputed holy shrine in Jerusalem by Israeli right-wing leader Ariel Sharon.
In Gaza, which witnessed heavy gun-battles between Israelis and Palestinians and rocket attacks against Palestinian security posts Sunday, Palestinian police were blocking demonstrators from marching on Netzarim and Rafah, the main flashpoint areas for the recent violence -- HEBRON, West Bank (AFP)
