Israeli aircraft fired missiles in the Gaza Strip Friday evening, killing six people and wounding seven, Palestinian security officials said.

According to the AP, one of the missiles hit a car in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, on the border with Egypt.

The Israeli military confirmed the attack, saying it was directed to senior wanted Palestinian activist from Salah al-Din Brigades, the Popular Resistance Committees' military wing.

According to Palestinian sources two of the victims were children and another one was a woman.
