SMART Technologies Inc. announces that SMART Board™ interactive whiteboards are used in the second season of Street Smarts, the Middle East’s first-of-its-kind reality TV show, currently broadcast on Infinity TV. Participants of the show will use SMART Board interactive whiteboards to present and explain strategies to team mates as they look to successfully complete the tasks assigned to them.
Street Smarts 2 involves 16 Arab men and women split into two mixed teams, who will be judged on their expertise and skills through 15 challenging assignments in the areas of business, entertainment and creativity. Participants’ ability to communicate their ideas and strategies to their team mates is greatly enhanced by the touch-sensitive display and the ease with which computer applications, multimedia materials or the internet can be accessed through the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. The contestant who successfully completes all the assignments, and wins the audience vote and the decision of the jury at the end of 34 episodes will be awarded US$100,000. The first season of the show concluded recently and was a major success, creating greater interest for the new season that went on air on September 6, 2006. Street Smarts 2 airs every Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 pm.
“We always wanted to incorporate exciting elements to this show, and we are glad to use SMART Board interactive whiteboards in the second season of ‘Street Smarts’,” says Ziad Batal, Executive Producer and Senior Program Creator, Media Group. “We are certain that participants will find these whiteboards extremely beneficial, given their range of practical features and easy-to-use applications.
