Today, Sony Gulf FZE. unveiled a new range of seven flat panel LCD televisions which leverages Sony’s technological expertise to deliver outstanding picture quality. The most comprehensive LCD television line-up ever to be launched in this region, these new generation LCD televisions are introduced under a new Sony TV brand “BRAVIA”. Standing for “Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture”, “BRAVIA” represents Sony’s vision of providing products with superior resolution for the digital and flat panel era which will touch all customers.

Display Panel at its Best
The extensive variety of the new “BRAVIA” LCD displays includes the V-Series, S-series and HT-series. These high performance models have panel sizes ranging from the compact 17-inch to a wide 40-inch to complement any room design and environment.
The V-series and S-series deliver a sharper digital High Definition pictures with 1366 x 768 dot pixels which is equivalent to 1 mega pixel resolution. The Sony LCD panel which features in these series offers higher contrast, wider viewing angle and quick response time to enhance consumers viewing pleasure.
A key technology differentiating Sony from competitors is its unique Wide Colour Gamut CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlight or “WCG-CCFL”, found in its top range V-series. This enhanced feature allows wider colour reproduction to reach a deeper and richer green and red gamut in LCD displays. This generates approximately 30% increase from the conventional CCFL backlights to provide viewing with greater reality.
Complementing the stunning picture performance is the enhanced sound quality. The new V-series feature Sony’s S-Master™ full digital amplifier and both V-series and S-series having SRS™ TruSurround™ audio technology. With just two speakers, these televisions provide a dynamic home entertainment experience that enable consumers to hear virtual surround audio.
Designed for Convenience with Full Features
The advanced Light Sensor™ feature available in the V-series and S-series automatically detects the brightness of the surrounding environment and adjusts its intensity, maximizing picture quality at all times for more comfortable viewing. The top V-series range is also equipped with the Picture-and-Picture (PAP) function that allows consumer to watch two programs simultaneously in two separate windows on the same screen. A common feature in all three series is the Picture Freeze function which freezes the screen temporarily on a broadcast program for quick jot-downs while the on-going motion picture continues to play in the sub-window.
Sony’s proprietary menu WEGA GATE™ provides ease-of-use graphic user interface with a one-button access to essential TV controls on the V-series and S-series. Consumers can watch their favorite channels and enjoy digital pictures and videos from an external source conveniently in one interactive interface. Other features on the three series include composite and S-video inputs for extensive connectivity options, PC input for the V-series and S-series, and a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI™) for the V-series.
The new BRAVIA-branded LCD televisions are available in all Jumbo outlets and other select electronics’ outlets across the UAE.
