Sorouh real estate welcomes Etihad aircraft order

Sorouh Real Estate PJSC, one of Abu Dhabi’s leading real estate developers, today welcomed the ambitious expansion plans announced by Etihad Airways at the Farnborough Airshow in the United Kingdom.  The airline announced firm orders for 100 new aircraft, starting deliveries in 2011, to meet expected demand for travel to, and through, Abu Dhabi.

Mounir Al Haidar, Sorouh’s CEO, said:

“Etihad has taken a bold and ambitious step in announcing this major addition to long-term capacity of its fleet.  We congratulate them on this forward planning, which recognizes the major growth in population, in commerce and in tourism, coming to Abu Dhabi over the next 15 years.

“The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is planning carefully for its future through Plan  Abu Dhabi 2030, a process in which Sorouh has been heavily involved.  Etihad’s announcement shows it too is preparing for the exciting future of our city and of our Emirate.

“Each one of the major companies in Abu Dhabi needs to play its part in planning for the future so that we can meet all the demands that will be placed upon us by 2030.”
