South African ‘idols’ live in Dubai on Aug 14
Dubai Summer Surprises 2008 is all set to host singing sensations from South Africa in the ‘South African Idols’ event on Thursday, August 14, at the Sheikh Rashid Halls in Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, being organised in cooperation with CAC Events, will start at 8pm and is one of the entertainment highlights in DSS.
The artists for the show feature Anke, Heinz Winckler, and Andriette – all stars of the South African Idol show. Johannesburg-born Anke won the 2003 POP Idols contest which catapulted her to instant fame. Heinz Winckler was the winner of the first South African Idol contest and went on to release an acclaimed album. Andriette is a consummate performer and carries the accolade from notorious Idols judge Randall Abrahams for being ‘the best singer that has ever entered Idols’.
Online tickets are available on www.timeoutdubai.com, through credit cards with no extra charges. Tickets can also be purchased through outlets like Spinneys Audio Video and all Nandos outlets. Tickets will be sold at the venue as well.
