Iraqi Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadhan has received a letter from South African President Thabo Mbeki, destined for President Saddam Hussein, pertaining to the latest Iraq-UN developments.

The letter was delivered by South African Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Bahad, according to the Iraq news agency Sunday.

Ramadhan said that Iraqi-South African relations are deep-rooted and based on mutual understanding.

In return, Bahad conveyed that the threats do not only target Baghdad, but the entire region and might extend to Africa, renewing his country’s rejection to any US aggression on Iraq, in particular following Iraq’s decision to readmit UN inspectors back into the country. (Albawaba.com)
