South Korean Prime Minister Arrives in Oman

South Korean Prime Minister Han-Dong Lee arrived in Muscat on Monday on an official two-day visit to Oman, reported Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).  

Lee is scheduled to conduct talks with Omani senior officials on boosting and developing economic fields especially gas and energy. This is the first visit of its kind by a South Korean prime minister to Muscat and comes within the framework of a tour that includes a number of regional countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar.  

The South Korean community in Oman is estimated at one thousand, working in different economic sectors.  

Trade volume between Oman and south Korea has reached 1.9 billion dollars in the year 2000 and was in favor of Korea during the past five years, according to KUNA – Albawaba.com
