One of Spain’s most influential design icon is to take a starring role at The Hotel Show 2009, the Middle East's leading dedicated event for the hospitality and leisure sector, in Dubai from 18-20 May 2010.

José Antonio Gandía-Blasco, President of the Gandía-Blasco company founded by his father in Valencia in the 1940s, will be a star speaker at the Seven Star conference running alongside the show focusing on the burgeoning outdoor furniture, spa, sports and leisure sectors of the hospitality industry.

He has worked on the Adam and Eve Hotel in Turkey, which has won several World Travel Awards. Specialising in ultra-hip hotels such as the Farol Design Hotel in Portugal and the Gansevoort South hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, Gandía-Blasco also sees the Arabic culture as an inspiration for future furniture concepts.

“Gandía-Blasco will be bringing along with him the ‘Passion Resort Project’,” said Maggie Moore, Exhibition Director of The Hotel Show. “With this, the company will bring the past 20 year designs and philosophies of Gandía-Blasco demonstrated in their new furniture line.”

The Hotel Show showcases the latest products, services and technologies for all aspects of the hospitality and leisure sector. This year’s show saw four product sectors: Operating Equipment and Supplies, Security and Technology, The Resort Experience and Interiors and Design. The Hotel Show 2009 featured 758 exhibitors from 41 countries and attracted 9,788 key industry decision makers and influencers from 77 countries.
