Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the secretary-general of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), concluded Tuesday a three-day visit in Morocco. During his visit, Zapatero held meetings with the Moroccan leadership, including the king, prime minister and local parliamentary representatives.
The Spanish politician expressed his wish for normality to return to diplomatic ties although he added it was a matter which is solely the responsibility of the two governments. It should be noted that Morocco recalled its ambassador in Madrid in October.
“The reception was a clearly positive reception, which highlights the fact that that there is undoubtedly a desire on the part of the Moroccan people and on the part of their authorities to return to that joint path…”, he was quoted as saying. (Albawaba.com)
