"Marry Prince William? I would love that," Spears said. "After all, who wouldn't want to be a princess?" she added in an interview with Sun, Britain’s top selling tabloid.

The Sun said that although Spears had never met Prince William before, she has plan to invite him to a concert. Both William, son of Crown Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, and Spears are 18.

"I wrote to him and sent him some signed photographs. One of his people wrote back and thanked me for them," Spears said.

A marriage between William and Britney?! Could be, since, according to Reuters, Spears’s publicist denied on Monday reports that Britney had accepted a wedding proposal from ‘N Sync’s Justin Timberlake.

"Contrary to what has been erroneously reported, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are neither engaged or married," said a statement by Spears’ publicist Lisa Kasteler.

Kasteler said the two singers, both 18, are friends but are not romantically involved.

However, not long ago, the guys from ‘N Sync said that they’d be joining Britney Spears for a British tour in October. Both acts were looking forward to the collaboration.

Moreover, Spears and "N Sync both record for the Jive Records label, and she and Timberlake were both members of the "New Mickey Mouse Club" cast before shooting to fame as recording stars, reported Reuters.

Spears’ latest album, "Oops! ... I Did It Again," sold 1.3 million copies during its first week in release in May, toppling "N Sync from No. 1 on the pop album charts and setting new records for first-week and single-week sales by a female artist. The album has gone on to sell 3.6 million copies in the United States.

N Sync"s latest album, "No Strings Attached," holds the record for biggest album release of all time, selling 2.42 million copies during its debut week in March. Its U.S. total has reached 6.6 million copies—albawaba.com (various sources).
