The Motorola Foundation today announced a $50,000 USD grant to the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs to help support the organisation.
The Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs aims to provide individuals with special needs equal opportunities through professional training. Currently, the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs serves 265 children and anticipates accommodating up to 300 children in the new facility.
“This grant represents a significant step in our relationship with Al Noor and allows us to work towards our common goals of better education and social support for all children,” commented Ali Amer, general manager and vice president, Motorola Networks EMEA. “Motorola has been in the UAE for over 30 years, and we are proud to be an integral part of this community.”
Motorola volunteered with Al Noor during the last two Motorola Global Days of Service. During the Global Day of Service, Motorola employees interacted with children in the classroom and engaged them in other training activities.
“The Motorola Foundation is pleased to support the Al Noor Training Centre in its effort to promote access to educational courses,” commented Eileen Sweeney, director of the Motorola Foundation. “The Al Noor program helps children with special needs realize their potential and integrate into the wider community.”
“Al-Noor is one of the leading training centres for children with special needs in the UAE, and we are delighted by the Motorola Foundation’s significant support. This grant will support the Primary Unit at the Centre, wherein intensive and holistic programme early in life ensures maximising the potential of the children. Partnerships with corporations such as Motorola, ensures we receive support at all levels, making the collaboration more meaningful,” said Isphana Al Khatib, director of Al Noor Centre.
