Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for the Sahara, James Baker, is expected to tour the Maghreb between January 14-17, it was officially announced at the United Nations in New York on Monday.
Baker is due to visit Rabat, Algiers, Tindouf and Nouakchott, UN Spokeswoman Hua Jiang, said, adding that he is to hold meetings with government officials in Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania as well as with the leadership of the Polisario front, MAP reported.
In the course of his tour, Baker will present the parties concerned and the neighboring countries a proposal to find a political solution to the Sahara conflict, the news agency added. (Albawaba.com)
