SpinBits, a leading Web 2.0 consultancy company, has successfully delivered akhtaboot.com, an online career networking website in Jordan. akhtaboot.com was officially inaugurated by Jordan’s Ministry of Labour, His Excellency Bassem Al Salem, on 7th July 2007 and features Web 2.0 applications to be used by both job employers and seekers.
akhtaboot.com is the first-of-its kind career networking website in Jordan and will simplify the way residents and expatriates track job opportunities. Using the site, employers can filter the database for CV’s, post job vacancies, as well as manage the entire recruitment process online at their own convenience.
akhtaboot.com was developed by SpinBits, using state-of-the-art technology and their expertise in Web 2.0 concepts such as social networking, user generated content and Ajax, a web development technique using XML, HTML/CSS and Javascript. Ruby on Rails, a web development framework, was applied in akhtaboot.com to completely develop the site back-end, including the job search mechanism, the interactive community section and a personalized user profile.
