Stronge earthquake strikes Iran

A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted the southeastern Iranian city of Bam early Thursday, according to the official IRNA news agency. 

 

The authorities were still assessing casualties and damage from the 8:32 am (local time) quake, the news agency said, citing the head of the seismology section of Tehran University, Mohammad Reza Qaytanchi. (Albawaba.com)
