Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of Vision-X Dubai 2007 - the only show of its kind in the region for the Optical and Ophthalmic industry, is expecting the event to be 30% bigger than the previous show in 2006.
The growth of Vision-X Dubai, to be held from 6 – 8 March 2007 in Hall 5 and 6 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, reflects the surge in demand and increasing recognition of the high-worth of the Middle East market for ophthalmic and optical products and services.
Several industry leaders have confirmed their participation at Vision-X Dubai 2007, including Rodenstock who is the Platinum Sponsor of the event, and PMI with its featured brands including French Connection, Caterpillar and Speedo. The significant increase in show size is also contributed by the many exhibitors who have decided to double or even quadruple their stand space following their past successful participation at Vision-X Dubai. The 2007 event has also received strong endorsement from international players, boosted by the largest ever staging by the Germany pavilion, and first time participation by companies from Spain, Croatia and Czech Republic.
“The strong support received from the broad range of companies and healthcare organisations for Vision-X Dubai has further affirmed the event’s position as the leading ophthalmic and optical platform for region,” says Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, DWTC.
To contribute to a wider discussion about eye health in the region, the Vision-X Dubai Conference organised by Emirates Medical Association Ophthalmic Society (EMAOS), and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, will be held alongside the exhibition.
Following its successful inaugural conference in 2006, this two-day programme is one of the few specialised conferences that caters to the needs of both ophthalmologists and optometrists, and will issue Certificate of Continuing Medical Education to its attending professionals. It will discuss a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from the basics of refraction and correction of refractory errors to the complicated eye diseases that can influence the refraction. There will also be a dedicated “Refractive Surgery Sub-Speciality Session” to address specific issues concerning Lasik technology.
“Vision-X Dubai has grown from strength to strength since its inception, and has established itself as a leading business event that understands and addresses the full spectrum needs of the industry - from medical advancements to cutting-edge fashion,” adds Mr Al Marri.
Vision-X Dubai 2007 will offer a diverse yet targeted range of products, including designer spectacle frames and fashion sunglasses, optical and ophthalmic lenses, accessories, tools and machinery, artificial eyes, optical and ophthalmic equipment and instruments, surgical instruments, spectacle lenses and lens cloths, eye care products, diagnostic equipment and instruments, lens cutting instruments, orthoptic equipment, sports wear and safety wear.
This trade-only event will appeal to distributors, importers and exporters, manufacturers, resellers, retailers and eye specialists such as opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists and surgeons.
