Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir said in remarks published on Monday that he was expecting Sudan to be off the U.S. list of states sponsoring terrorism and lifting American sanctions on the country after reaching a final peace settlement in the country.

Al-Bashir told the Saudi daily newspaper, Al-Watan, that he was projecting a thaw in Khartoum's relations with Washington soon, expressing his belief that "all problems of Sudan with the West in general and America in particular have been related to the war in the south."
