Sudanese government and rebel officials inked an accord Wednesday on sharing the nation's wealth, eliminating a key obstacle to reaching a comprehensive peace agreement in Africa's longest-running war.
Among the riches to be shared by the government and the Sudan People's Liberation Army is revenue from the 250,000 barrels of oil per day coming from the south, The AP reported.
The only remaining obstacles to a peace deal are the composition of a transitional administration, the fate of three disputed areas in central Sudan, and whether the Sudanese capital should be governed under Islamic law. (Albawaba.com)
