Sudanese President Omar Bashir will lead his country's delegation to an emergency Arab summit in the Egyptian capital Cairo October 21-22, Sudan's ambassador to Cairo was quoted Tuesday as saying.
Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Halim was quoted by independent Akhbar al-Youm daily as adding that Foreign Minister, Mustafa Osman Ismail, would participate in the Arab ministerial meeting ahead of the summit.
Egypt called last week for the summit to forge a unified Arab response to the Palestinian-Israeli clashes that erupted September 28 when Israel's right-wing opposition leader Ariel Sharon visited the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem.
